Ingredients

For the Chicken Coating
  • 1 pound Chicken Breast fresh is preferred for optimal flavor
  • 1 cup Flour helps achieve a crispy crust; gluten-free blends work too
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder adds savory depth; fresh garlic can enhance flavors dramatically
  • 2 large Eggs beat until pale for best results
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs delivers that irresistible crunch; substitute with regular breadcrumbs if needed
For Frying
  • 2 cups Oil (for frying) canola or vegetable oil is ideal
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce use tamari for a gluten-free option
  • 1/4 cup Honey maple syrup makes a great vegan alternative
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha adjust to your spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil elevates the flavor profile; omit if you’re out

Equipment

  • skillet
  • mixing bowls

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Set up your workstation with three shallow dishes. In the first dish, combine flour with garlic powder. In the second dish, beat the eggs until pale. In the third dish, place panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Take a chicken breast and coat it in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, then press into the panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat to about 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the chicken, frying for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the chicken cooks, whisk together soy sauce, honey, sriracha, and sesame oil for the glaze.
  5. Once the chicken is done, drizzle or toss the glaze over the chicken pieces in the skillet and heat through for an additional minute.
  6. Transfer the glazed chicken to a serving platter and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately with steamed rice or salad.
