  • 1 cup Cabbage finely chopped, or replace with bean sprouts
  • 1/4 cup Green Onions chopped, or use shallots
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce or tamari/coconut aminos
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper or white pepper for a unique twist
For Assembly
  • 1 package Lumpia Wrapper or spring roll wrappers
  • oil Oil for Frying enough to submerge the rolls

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Finely chop the carrots, cabbage, and green onions. Thaw ground meat if frozen.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat with chopped vegetables, minced garlic, soy sauce, and ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Lay a lumpia wrapper flat, spoon filling near one end, fold sides, and roll tightly from the bottom. Seal edges.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Test with a small piece of wrapper; it should sizzle immediately.
  5. Fry assembled spring rolls in batches for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Turn occasionally.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove spring rolls and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with dipping sauces.
