Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat, then add in diced onions and taco seasoning, cooking for another 3-5 minutes until onions soften.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press seams to form a flat base.
  3. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough base, then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  4. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough over the filling and pinch edges to seal it.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh cilantro, green onions, and sour cream if desired.
