For the Cocktail
  • 1 cup Fresh Blackberries or frozen for a frostier drink
  • 2 oz Silver Tequila blanco tequila recommended
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz Orange Liqueur such as Triple sec or Cointreau
  • ¾ oz Agave Syrup or substitute with stevia or monk fruit
  • to taste Coarse Sea Salt optional for rimming
For the Garnishes
  • 2 Whole Blackberries for garnishing
  • 1 Lime Wheel for garnish
  • 1 Mint Sprig for garnish
  • 2 slices Thin Slices of Jalapeño optional for a spicy kick

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Blackberry Margaritas
  1. Wash 1 cup of fresh blackberries under cool water. Blend the blackberries on high for about 30 seconds until smooth. Strain if desired.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of silver tequila, 1 oz of lime juice, 1 oz of orange liqueur, and ¾ oz of agave syrup with 2 tbsp of blackberry puree.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  4. Run a lime wedge along the rim of the glass and dip it into coarse sea salt.
  5. Fill the rimmed glass with ice and strain the cocktail mixture over the ice.
  6. Garnish with whole blackberries, a lime wheel, and a mint sprig. Add jalapeño slices if desired.
