  • 2-3 cups Bell Peppers sliced (red, yellow, green)
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2-3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 can (14 oz) Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian Herbs such as oregano and basil
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For Garnishing (optional)
  • to taste Fresh Parsley or Basil for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the bell peppers into strips, chop the onion, and mince the garlic. Cut the Italian sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook the sausage until browned.
  3. Sauté the bell peppers and onion in the same skillet until softened, then add the garlic.
  4. Combine the sausage with the sautéed vegetables, crushed tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper; simmer.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and transfer to a baking dish if skillet isn't oven-safe. Bake with Parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Garnish with parsley or basil before serving.
