Step-by-Step Instructions for Frogmore Stew
  1. In a large stockpot, bring 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, stir in ¾ cup of Old Bay Seasoning. Simmer for a few minutes.
  2. Add 2 pounds of new red potatoes to the boiling seasoned water. Cook for about 15 minutes until fork-tender.
  3. Mix in 2 pounds of hot smoked sausage. Simmer with the potatoes for 5 minutes.
  4. Add 12 quartered ears of fresh corn. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until tender but crisp.
  5. Stir in 4 pounds of large, unpeeled shrimp. Cook for about 5 minutes until pink and opaque.
  6. Carefully drain the stew using a colander, keeping the ingredients intact.
