Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat and season with garlic powder or Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Spread uncooked long-grain white rice at the bottom of the prepared baking dish, followed by a layer of cooked ground beef.
  4. Pour the French onion soup and beef consommé over the rice and beef, stirring gently if necessary to keep layers intact.
  5. Dot the top of the casserole with small pats of unsalted butter.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 60 to 75 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil, fluff the rice with a fork, and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
