Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add ground beef, onion, and minced garlic. Cook until beef is browned and onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. Lower heat to medium and stir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to let the spices bloom.
  3. Pour in tomato sauce and beef broth, stirring well. Add dry ziti noodles. Increase heat to high and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Once boiling, cover with a lid and reduce heat to medium. Let simmer for about 12-14 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most liquid is absorbed and ziti is tender.
  5. Check the texture; if undercooked or dry, add a splash more beef broth or water and simmer for a couple more minutes.
  6. Stir the Beefaroni one last time, then serve warm. Top with grated cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
