Step-by-Step Instructions for Cheesy Mozzarella Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of warm water, 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast and a pinch of granulated sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of garlic salt, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1 teaspoon of dried basil.
  4. Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until a rough dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Make a well in the dough, then fold in 1.5 cups of freshly shredded mozzarella and 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Knead briefly.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
