Equipment

  • Oven
  • Pizza Stone

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Allow your pizza dough to come to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Lightly flour your work surface and roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Spread a thin layer of crushed San Marzano tomatoes over the surface, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  3. Tear or slice fresh mozzarella and distribute it evenly over the sauce.
  4. Preheat your oven to 475°F to 500°F. Place a pizza stone in the oven to heat for at least 30 minutes. Transfer the pizza onto the hot stone or a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes.
  5. Scatter fresh basil leaves over the hot pizza and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
