Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Allow pizza dough to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Stretch or roll it into a 12-inch circle.
  2. Spread a thin layer of crushed San Marzano tomatoes over the dough, leaving a half-inch border for the crust.
  3. Tear or slice fresh mozzarella into small pieces and scatter them over the tomato sauce.
  4. Preheat your oven to a high temperature (475°F to 500°F). Bake pizza for 10 to 12 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  5. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2 minutes. Top with fresh basil leaves and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Slice the pizza into wedges or squares and serve immediately.
