Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced green onions. Add sesame oil and mix well until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Thinly slice beef and place it in a large resealable bag or bowl. Pour marinade over beef and seal the bag or cover the bowl. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and caramelized.
  4. While the beef is cooking, slice your fresh vegetables into thin strips. Sauté them lightly if desired.
  5. In serving bowls, place a scoop of cooked rice, layer the cooked beef over it, and arrange fresh vegetables around the beef.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Optionally drizzle more sesame oil and add nori or gochujang.
  7. Serve with traditional Korean sides like kimchi or pickled radishes; encourage guests to customize their bowls.
