For the Casserole
  • 1 lb Ground beef Use 85–90% lean for best results.
  • 1 cup Long-grain white rice Do not substitute with instant rice.
  • 1 can French onion soup Key for richness.
  • 1 can Beef consommé Enhances the beefy profile of the dish.
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter Contributes richness and moisture.
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Chopped parsley Optional, adds color and freshness.

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Spread uncooked long-grain rice evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer the browned ground beef over the uncooked rice.
  5. Pour the French onion soup and beef consommé over the layers of ground beef and rice.
  6. Dot the top of the casserole with small pats of unsalted butter.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60-75 minutes.
  8. After baking, fluff the rice with a fork and optionally garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes
